The ultimate 2" diagonal by Baader Planetarium from Germany with a Sital-ceramic mirror with 153 coating layers. Designed using a scratch resistant dielectric world famous Astro-Physics mirror Baader guarantees a surface quality of at least 1/10 wave and a peak reflectivity of 98.5%.
In addition, the extreme coating hardness makes the Baader Maxbright highly durable (the coatings are actually harder than the glass itself). The Maxbright mirror coatings will last a lifetime without loss of reflectivity, and may be cleaned with normal care without fear of scratches.
The Baader coating process eliminates problems that can arise with other all-dielectric mirror coatings, normally the multi-layer coating results in high surface stresses that can cause a diagonal's mirror to warp as much as 1/2 wave, affecting the figure of the mirror and distorting the optical wavefront. Baader's proprietary coating process maintains the 1/10 wave mirror surface accuracy ensuring the highest possible corrections are retained.
The diagonal has a 2" barrel for use with telescopes equipped with 2" focusers, designed with a safety undercut and a 2" eyepiece holder with compression ring and two locking screws. Both adaptors can be unscrewed, the mirror then has the SCT thread making this not only the highest possible optical specification diagonal but also extremely versatile.
Optical length of the diagonal is 108mm
