Meade vibration isolation pads reduce telescope tripod vibration times normally to less than one second, allowing undisturbed viewing. Telescope vibrations are caused by windy conditions, ground vibrations, by an undersized or unsteady mount or tripod, or even by touching the scope to focus. They result in reduced image quality, as your high-powered images are blurred as they dance around in the eyepiece until the normal telescope vibrations damp out to zero.
