Revelation Infra Red Blocking Filter 1.25"

A quality infra red blocking filter helps with webcam planetary imaging by rejecting unwanted light in the infra red that can spoil images. This standard size 1.25" filter will thread directly in to the majority of standard webcam adaptors as well as eyepieces, barlows and accessories threaded for filters. An essential filter for planetary imagers using refractors, SCT'S or maksutovs where the light comes through a glass corrector plate or lens. Unlike the naked eye the CCD chip of cameras and webcams are sensitive in the near IR. As a consequence contrast and sharpness can suffer. The IR blocking filter is an interference filter with a steep, precisely controlled filter curve. For visual use the filter seems fully transparent since the human eye doesn't perceive the IR and UV light.
