SkyWatcher Skymax 180 PRO HEQ5 SynTrek Maksutov Cassegrain Telescope

Large aperture Maksutov Cassegrains are renowned for their high contrast optics and ability to resolve fine Planetary detail as well as split double stars right down to the theoretical limit of the aperture. The SkyWatcher PRO versions are no exception and boast features you would usually only see on exotic hand made instruments costing several times that of this fine range. The optics are all fully multi coated and the glass is sourced from the world leader in precision optical glass - Schott. The focusers are precision engineered and super smooth and the tubes themselves are all aluminium.

PRO-SERIES products are manufactured to extremely high levels of optical and mechanical precision, undergoing very strict quality control procedures and testing by specially assigned technicians, to ensure the highest standards of quality and performance are consistently maintained.

The new HEQ5 SynTrek is effectively a hybrid of the standard HEQ5 and the HEQ5 PRO SynScan. It is basically a standard EQ6 but with a pre-installed PRO SynScan motherboard and stepper motors, and supplied with its own unique SynTrek hand-controller. These mounts can be upgraded to full GOTO capability. The SynTrek hand control is designed for the purpose of providing a simple slewing and tracking control. The small and versatile SynTrek hand control provides automatic tracking of celestial objects as soon as the power is turned on. The user-friendly interface provides quick access to many other functions the SynTrek has to offer.
