The positive locking collar can be unscrewed from the lower 2" barrel to reveal an M48 male thread, so it can be used for other adaptation purposes such as connecting filter wheels and M48 DSLR adapters to 2" focusers. The positive locking collar prevents marring of your eyepieces or accessories by clamping them evenly, far superior than simple screw or compression rings.2" 50mm extension tube with a Positive Lock clamp, ideal for spacing DSLR cameras on refractors without a diagonal in place.Adds 50mm distance between telescope focuser and eyepiece or camera. Fits 2" focusers.Simply twist the ring to unlock the accessory.The extension tube is threaded to accept standard 2" filters. (M48)A thumbscrew is included for those who want to lock the collar in the closed position. This does not protrude through to the 2" item being clamped in place.

Superb quality at a very reasonable price I bought this to allow the use of a 1.25" prism diagonal with my refractor and its Feather Touch focuser. Great product, great service. Needed a 2 inch clicklock type adaptor to prevent marking my gear. The Altair 50mm extension tube positive lock solves the problem. Holds well and very securely with the thumbscrew lock. Great value, well made and superfast delivery from Harrisons. You need to make sure you've got enough focus. (15/08/2020) -
Solidly made, does the job. Nicely engineered, as per the description it can be separated into two parts which provides some extra flexibility. Twist locking mech as described does not mark whatever is inserted into it. Recommended. (02/05/2020) Paul Evans - NW England
