A really useful premium ED refractor at 110mm aperture and a user friendly f7 focal ratio, this optc offers a significant advantage over 100mm class refractors yet is very portable - not to mention being an affordable instrument packed with advanced features. Premium focuser
This V2 model boasts a high quality 2.5 inch rack and pinion focuser providing precise focusing for visual or imaging applications. In addition the new focuser is fitted with a 2" Positive Lock adapter, an improvement which allows quick and secure accessory changes without leaving scuff marks on the accessory 2" barrel. Increased light grasp
The Starwave 110 ED delivers slightly higher resolution and more light grasp than the 102mm ED for a small increase in weight and size. Deep sky and planetary images show slightly increased brightness and image scale, letting you discern slightly more subtle details at the eyepiece. Superior corrections
Being an ED refractor, the Starwave 110ED has far better colour correction than is possible with an achromatic refractor of equivalent focal length, making the overall tube length more portable. We have published an article explaining the merits of this design, read about ED Doublet refractors
. Quality assurance
The additional aperture of the 110mm ED design makes this a suitable option for those who want slightly more light gathering and resolution over a 4" refractor, but who still want a relatively portable telescope which won't over-tax their mount. Every telescope is star-tested and collimation and spacing is adjusted for best performance. This really does show at the eyepiece.Starwave ED110 Features:
