Baader Sky Surfer V Night and Day Finder

Baader Sky Surfer V Night and Day Finder

Each SkySurfer V now includes Baader's new machined aluminum two-part quick release dovetail system. The red dot brightness is adjusted by an 11 position adjustment which covers all eventualities from daytime use to sighting on the faintest star, this quality finder will help to give yourself pin point accurate alignments and locate objects in your scope quickly and effectively.

Astro or Solar finder versatility
The Baader SkySurfer V works as a dual function finder, as a precise astronomy and solar-finder. The SkySurfer now contains an adhesive recticle, to mount (to stick) onto the outside of the rear glass protecting hood, as well as a front cover with a 0.7 mm center hole, to safely project a small solar image onto the rear recticle

The SkySurfer V boasts excellent features such as an effective dew shade and build quality that means alignment is retained and adjusted accurately with positive clicks. Well engineered from aluminium which makes this premium RDF far more robust and reliable than plastic bodied alternatives, the best RDF we have found available for telescopes.

Demilitarized giant illuminated Red Dot Visor (RDV)
Originally this product had a military function, hence it is built like a tank.

With both jump covers flipped open, the unit works as a terrestrial as well as an astronomical Red Dot Finder for straight through aiming with both eyes open, featuring a sharp 2 MOA red dot with 11 brightness set points. The three lower light settings are intended for night work against the sky.

With both jump-covers closed, the unit works as a safe daylight solar finder, projecting the solar disc through a 1.5 MOA (minutes of arc) pinhole onto a 40 mm wide rear 2 MOA reticle. The reticle is applied onto a yellow UV-blocker for added safety against accidental straight viewing. The projected solar image can be centered onto the reticle without looking straight through the finder.

Customer Reviews

Nader Sky Surfer V  As with all Baader products the Sky Surfer V is beautifully made. Very robust all metal construction goes to make an almost bomb proof finder. Very simple to use, adjustments are made via two hidden screws. The laser light has eleven settings although I find level two or three ample at night. Lovely  (31/10/2018) Niky Morris - S. Wales
