The Bresser Messier 6" Dobsonian telescope is simply a breakthrough. Despite its low price, this telescope offers a versatility and quality rivaling many more expensive telescope options. A complete system ready to observe the night sky with.
The Bresser Messier 6" Dobsonian is easy to use, but is not only for beginners - experienced amateur astronomers will love this high perfomance and compact telescope, which is easily portable, yet large enough to explore the skies with. The main goal of the design of this telescope is a quick setup and ease of use. Simply place the Messier 6" Dobson telescope on a table or level surface in your backyard, point the telescope to your target object (using the supplied red dot finder) and you are ready to start observations.
The Messier 6" Dobson is almost completely pre-assembled in the factory, which means you can set up and start observing within minutes of unpacking the system. Just add the included standard accessories (LED-finder, 25mm and 9mm Kellner eyepieces and Moon filter) and the telescope is ready to go! The inbuilt compass and circular level speeds up the telescopes orientation and gives the user a guide to directional pointing.
The optical diameter of 150mm (6") does not restrict your observations to solar system objects like the moon or the planets - you can reach farther into the sky and explore globular and open clusters, nebulae and galaxies. Finding and identifying fainter objects is much easier with this class of telescope, than smaller beginner's instruments. Bresser also has equipped these dobsonians with a high quality parabolic main mirror, which offers a much better sharpness and contrast than rival telescopes with more simple inexpensive spherical main mirrors.
The optical tube can easily be moved inside the tube rings, in order to find the optimal balance and observing position. This is another virtue of this highly versatile telescope system: remove the optical tube from its Dobsonian telescope mount and use the optics on a equatorial mount - in minutes. It is also possible to get to prime focus with this telescope for true long duration astrophotography - another plus point over many alternative Dobsonians, which often lack the prerequisite in focus to allow the most efficient type of imaging.
In short: this telescope sets new standards in usability, versatility and performance in its price class.

Good but manual has shortcomings Ordering from Harrison Telescopes was easy and delivery ex Germany excellent. Quick start photos fairly clear but more information needed re adjustment /collimation etc especially for beginners at whom this equipment is aimed. The only on line manual is for 8" and 10" Dobsons! Performance excellent (08/11/2018) R. Metherell - Sussex .
Bresser Messier 6 Relatively easy to set up and vision sharp. Access to a full manual would be a help - the supplied CD didn't work and the online manuals were not for this scope. (23/09/2017) F Carmichael - Malvern
