Whilst many advanced observers may be getting rather used to the joys of super-wide apparent field eyepieces, we're sure that the Explore Scientific LER design is one of the sharpest, yet most comfortable and immersive eyepieces we've ever experienced - it really is a joy to use. The occular size alone has to be seen to be believed.
The 8 lens (arranged in 6 groups) design of this eyepiece yields superbly corrected views and the 22mm eye relief and wide occular diameter combine to deliver a fantastic user experience. The 12mm focal length will be a good fit for many different telescope designs and focal ratios. Those who have lower focal ratio instruments, such as shorter ED and Apo refractors, will adore the widefield deep sky views this eyepiece delivers. Whilst owners of 8, 9.25 and even 10-inch (on nights of good seeing) SCT or RC telescopes, who are looking for higher power planetary and lunar magnifications will love what this eyepiece does for their particular instruments.
Explore Scientific's EMD coatings provide exceptional contrast and combat internal reflections extremely efficiently. The eyepiece has internal baffles and entirely blackened internal fittings which complement the EMD coatings.
The Explore Scientific 92° Argon 12mm LE Eyepiece is Argon purged and completely waterproof - so is impervious to dirt, moisture and fungal ingress.
