Helios LIGHTQUEST-HR observation binoculars combine top high end features in mechanical and optical design, with outstanding performance to match, at 16x magnification these large binoculars are ideal astronomy and low light usewith huge light grasp. An perfect combination of 16x at 70mm will provide an optimum exit pupil of 4.4mm for a superb view in dark skies.
They are fully waterproof (IPX7 standard, 1m depth for 30 minutes) and nitrogen filled for clear fog-free operation, with individual eyepiece (IF) focusing and designed for medium-to-long-range terrestrial and astronomical observations. The body material is constructed from magnesium alloy making the binocular extremely lightweight for an instrument of this size, whilst maintaining a very robust structure. The body is covered in stylish hard textured leatherette.Features high-index BaK-4 prisms and a fully broadband multi-coated optical system and shockproof caged prisms. The high-resolution optical system features high-transmission lens and prism coatings allowing a massive light throughput equal to or exceeding 90%. The lens coatings have an extremely low level of reflectivity, ensuring the maximum amount of precious light is provided at the eyepiece. Images delivered are vibrant, very flat edge-to-edge and virtually distortion free.The eyepiece design 8 elements/ 5 groups, features oversized eye lens elements for comfortable viewing. A good pair of binoculars A got these as I was looking for a decent pair of 70mm binocculasr for hunting down C/2022 E3. The fit and finish of the binoculars is very nice and the bag they come in looks strong. They were slightly heavier than expected and could do with being used on a tripod.
