The Ideal No Fuss, Grab-and-Go Telescope Mount for easy visual astronomy as well as daytime terrestrial observations!! The elegant and well engineered Sky-Watcher AZ5 is a lightweight, highly portable Alt-Azimuth mount constructed from cast aluminium, designed to attach telescopes up to 5kg in weight, fitted with a 45mm standard dovetail bar. The aluminium telescopic tripod legs can be extended and clamped in any position using the integral leg locks. Supplied with two flexible slow-motion cables for both axes and extends to 158cm tall.The mount can also be moved manually around each axis, for rapid panning and elevation adjustments. Accurately tracks distant moving objects with ease. A superb grab-and-go mounting suitable for both terrestrial observations and astronomical viewing.Please note - these mounts use the 3/8" thread to attach to tripods so are not compatible with standard telescope tripods. Solid well made mount Have to say this mount is good for a grab n go setup but don't buy with Pronto tripod, the tripod is far too flimsy, no better than a camera tripod, buy the mount alone and get the 3-8" heavy tripod much better! (22/03/2023) Paul - Kent
Ideal for a grab and go scope Purchased to use with Skywatcher Travel 120. It is relatively light but handles the Travel 120 well, keeping it nice and stable with smooth slow motion adjustment. Excellent Sturdy Mount This mount is very well built, easy to operate and enables me to mount my refractor, solar scope, camera and spotting scope . A great grab and go mount and tripod for observing Bought this as a grab and go mount for my ED80 and also to use the tripod for my star adventurer. It fits the bill perfectly but as I expected the tripod needs a bit of extra help with a central weight under the tray. This isn't a big deal and really only needed with the legs extended.
