Customer Reviews

Good device but not great   It is good for the intended job, but poor design means it does pop out of the mount sometimes so a better base might work well, also the lack of a switch to turn it on and off is missing, instead you have to loosen the battery cover. Maybe add these features to future designs?   (02/09/2019) Karen - Inverness

Works well, but a poor design  Fits well and works well with my EQ5 Pro GOTO and really does help with PA.However, the design of the unit is sadly lacking a true 'on-off' switch and unless the battery cover is unscrewed by a substantial amount, the LED will draw current. I will be modifying mine and add a miniature switch.   (24/05/2019) Rob C - Plymouth

perfect for eq5  a great little illuminator that fits perfectly into the eq5 i also had 1 with the star adventure and works great with that as well   (14/12/2018) jim - ramsgate

great illuminator  very pleased with this as it makes aligning with the pole star very aesy   (20/01/2018) Phipps - Sunderland

Splendid very pleased  A great little addition to my EQ3-2 mount set-up. With the adjustable red glow of the Skywatcher Polar Illuminator I am now able to clearly define the pattern on my polar scope reticule & put the north star Polaris accurately in the little circle.   (24/11/2017) John Richard Jarvis - Coventry. West Midlands

SkyWatcher Polar Illuminator for EQ3 EQ5

MPN: 20501

Price: 21.95

This battery operated LED illuminator easily attaches to the exit hole of the polar axis bore of both the EQ3-2 and EQ5 Equatorial Mounts. Provides illumination to the polarscope reticule. A useful aid to the polar alignment procedure especially in darker skies when crosshairs are hard to see.
