SkyWatcher SolarQuest Mount Head only that can attach to many photo tripods with a 3/8 thread and the heliofind system finds as well as tracks the Sun when combined with a suitable solar telescope. Solar observing has just been made incredibly easy with Sky-Watcher's clever and technologically innovative SolarQuest mount is extremely user-friendly and provides a safe experience for automatically locating and observing the sun with your solar telescope. SOLARQUEST MOUNT HEAD ONLY: Can be fitted to any tripod with 3/8" tripod thread such as many photo type tripods as well those in the related accessories.Just roughly level the tripod and point your solar telescope anywhere to the left of the sun and let Sky-Watcher's revolutionary HelioFind Solar Alignment Technology automatically do the rest!! At the single push of a button, the telescope will be auto-levelled and the mount via GPS data fixing will calculate the altitude and azimuth of the sun based on the time and location. The telescope will then be pointed to the correct altitude and the mount will slew clockwise hunting for the sun. The Solar Sensor will detect the sun and lock onto it, and will silently track and keep it within the eyepiece's field of view indefinitely. The SolarQuest is elegant in its simplicity and works like a dream. For one of our review tests we fitted a small, white light-filtered telescope onto the mount head, powered the SolarQuest mount and waited for it to point at the Sun. Once done, we fine-tuned the Sun’s position via a high frame-rate camera and an on-screen reticule. Outstanding mount and outstanding service This is the second Solarquest mount I own and it is an awesome mount for anyone that does solar observing. It works out of the box and is a one button set up, a must if you observe the sun in anyway. It stays locked onto the sun from sunrise to sunset and I would recommend it to anyone. SolarQuest Mount Head - Well Worth Buying I bought this as I was struggling to align with the sun. Delivery was quick and hassle free. I have only had chance to use it once however it was easy to set up and it found and tracked the sun with no problem. A nice compact little mount that is well worth buying (21/04/2022) Dave - Derby
