The Sony Alpha T2 mount adapter ring allows you to connect your Sony Alpha (Alpha / Minolta type lens fitting - not E mount) Digital SLR Camera to a telescope when coupled with the appropriate T adapter, usually a simple 1.25" or 2" T adaptor is required although some telescopes require specific adaptors as shown in this section. If your Sony Alpha uses the E mount for lenses you will need the Sony E mount T RingThe T2 ring simply attaches to the camera body in place of the camera lens allowing the telescope to become the camera lens. This method of astro imaging is known as prime focus imaging and will provide stunning images of the night sky. Pleased that with my purchase I have just started taking an interest in astronomy and purchased this adapter ring so I can use my Sony A 77 camera with a Celestron telescope, what a difference it makes to the image for so little money.
