This heavy duty fully height adjustable tripod is made from ash wood, so it is warm to the touch (unlike metal tripods) and has very good vibration-suppressing. Wood tripods are known to be much better than steel or aluminium ones with superior dampening characteristics, this is especially noticable at high powers when observing Planets.It is designed to accept mounts with an M10 mounting thread and works especially well with the StellaLyra Dual Alt-Azimuth Mount.Also works well with Sky-Watcher EQ5 / EQ5-Pro mounts. A rock solid tripod Have used this with a Alt-Az head and a 4 inch refractor. Rock solid construction that keeps the telescope steady in a wide range of settings. Good height that takes the back and neck stress out of observing. Be aware that the azimuth 'N' pin may be slightly too long for some mounts. Recommended. (18/12/2023) Martyn - Essex
